Getting Help
Whether it’s academic support, safety intervention, mental or physical health services, or financial emergencies, Yale College has resources in place to help.
Academic Support
For students seeking information on advising, academic resource centers, registration, and academic requirements. Advisers, tutors, deans, heads of college, faculty, and the Yale College Dean’s Office are also eager to assist students in their academic growth.
Health & Well-Being Support
Students have multiple resources when dealing with physical or psychological illness. Yale Health, Yale’s central healthcare facility, offers comprehensive medical and mental health services. Students may engage the help of heads and deans of their residential college, student advisors, and Dean’s Office staff for guidance and support.
Financial Support
For many students, the college years are the first experience of managing money. Yale has developed programs to help our students understand and manage money, and also to get funding assistance in the event of an emergency. Yale’s Financial Literacy website helps students understand their specific financial resources and to explore ways of managing those resources.
Social Support
At Yale, we are committed to helping our students feel safe and comfortable as they adjust to life on campus. Resources are in place to provide support, community, peer assistance, financial guidance, among other types of assistance.
Career Support
The Office of Career Strategy (OCS) offers career advising, professional school advising, employment and internship opportunities, and career development resources. The office works with students and alums of Yale College to clarify career aspirations, identify opportunities, and offer support at every stage of career development.
