Located in a state-of-the-art facility at 55 Locke Street, Yale Health (YH) provides outstanding, patient-centered care to all members of the Yale community and has a department dedicated specifically to student health. Yale’s medical providers –physicians, nurse practitioners, nurse midwives, physician assistants, and others are board certified and committed to a team approach to health care.
Yale Health features an Acute Care Unit (Sun-Sat: 8 am- 6 pm, RN telephone triage available 24/7 at (203) 432-0123); a 17-bed inpatient facility with two negative pressure rooms; a diagnostic imaging suite including MRI, CT scan, x-ray, and ultrasound; and a full-service retail pharmacy.
While Yale Health is the most expedient route to treatment of any sort, students may also call on the support of their residential college head or dean, freshman counselor, peer liaison, cultural center director, professors or teaching assistants, coaches and administrators of undergraduate organizations, Yale College Dean’s Office staff, most especially the deans of Student Affairs and Student Engagement.
Student Mental Health and Counseling
Yale offers robust mental health resources and has available to students mental health assistance specifically geared to their unique challenges and concerns. The newly-launched Yale College Community Care provides counseling and wellness support to undergraduates.
Those students who seek the therapeutic services of the department of Mental Health & Counseling are offered an evaluation within two to four weekdays. Following this initial appointment, most students are typically connected to a therapist within a couple of weeks.

If you are experiencing non-emergency physical discomfort, please call Yale Health at 203-432-0123. Yale Health’s Acute Care Unit is also open seven days a week from 8 am - 6 pm. RN Acute Care telephone triage is available 24/7 at (203) 432-0123.
