The Edward A. Bouchet Fellowship Program, named in honor of Yale College’s first African-American graduate and the first African-American in the United States to earn a PhD, was established to increase the number of students pursuing PhDs and subsequent careers in academia who come from minority backgrounds or have an interest in addressing racial disparities.

The Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellowship Program supports minority students and others committed to addressing racial disparities in the pursuit of PhDs and subsequent careers in academia in selected core fields in the arts and sciences.

The Nakanishi Prize recognizes high academic achievement and exemplary leadership in enhancing race and/or ethnic relations at Yale College.

The Alan S. Tetelman 1958 Fellowships for Study Abroad provide support via the endowments of Jonathan Edwards College for original undergraduate research projects abroad in the natural and applied sciences. The Robert C. Bates Summer Research Fellowship supports student STEM-based research projects outside of the continental U.S. that might not otherwise be covered by the Tetelman Fellowship.

The Traphagen Alumni Speakers Series brings distinguished alumni to campus so that students may enjoy direct access to their thoughts, ideas, and experiences.

The Yale College Dean's Research Fellowship in the Humanities and Social Sciences provides a limited number of fellowships to support strong original undergraduate research projects that cannot be supported through other programs or faculty research grants.

Projects must be conducted under the supervision of a Yale faculty member. Your letter of reference must come from your Yale research supervisor, who must confirm in the letter that s/he has agreed to be the project mentor.

Both the Yale College Dean’s Research Fellowship and the Rosenfeld Science Scholars Program seek to promote the academic development of promising students through engagement in original scientific research and provide fellowship support for undergraduate STEM research projects. Awardees will be selected from among currently enrolled sophomores and juniors. Applicants may be pursuing a degree in any major offered by Yale College, but must be proposing research in the natural sciences, engineering, mathematics, and computer science.
