November 9, 2022

Dear Students,

I am writing to let you know about two changes that will go into effective Friday, November 11, if you get a positive test on a COVID-19 test.

Notifications

Starting Friday, you will receive any positive test notifications and instructions by email, rather than by phone. Please read these messages carefully, which will be delivered to your yale.edu account; the sender is Yale Health Notification Team <yalecoviddatabase@yale.edu>. Your residential college dean will continue to receive notifications of all positive cases in your college.

Testing out of isolation

Also on Friday, you will be able to test out of isolation on day five or six if you receive a negative result with routine rapid antigen tests. You will no longer have to take a proctored test or register for the Navica app. Instead, you will receive two rapid test kits in your isolation kit and will release yourself, masked until day 10, if you get a negative result on either day five or six. Otherwise, remain in isolation until day seven and wear a mask until day 10.

If you have questions about these changes, you can always call the Campus COVID Resource Line at 203-432-6604. For questions about isolating in place, you can always call the housing office at 203-432-4020.

Sincerely,

Julie Sweigard
Director of Administrative Affairs, Yale College
Health and Safety Leader, Yale College
