More than 50% of Yale students receive financial aid from Yale. Yale awards all financial aid on the basis of financial need, and it meets the full demonstrated need of all students, regardless of citizenship or immigration status. This includes undocumented students living in the U.S., with or without DACA status.
Yale does not expect students to take out loans. Instead, Yale financial aid awards include a Yale Scholarship, a parent contribution, and a student contribution.Families whose total gross income is less than $65,000 (with typical assets) are not expected to make a financial contribution towards their child’s Yale education.
