Luggage storage

There will be storage available for Yale Student belongings at Sever Hall on Harvard's campus. This will allow students to store their luggage upon arrival if they don't yet have access to where they are staying, and on Saturday during the game.  Students may access their luggage until 10pm on Friday and 9am - 5pm on Saturday.  Any luggage remaining at Sever Hall after 5pm on Saturday will be returned to Yale.

Access to Harvard's campus

All Yale students should have their Yale ID on them while visiting Harvard, and maybe asked to present their ID to access certain activities. Specifically, a Yale ID will be required to access breakfast on Saturday morning and the Undergraduate Student Tailgate.  

Residential Accommodation

Yale College will be partnering with the Harvard residential colleges to provide overnight accommodations from Friday, November 22nd to Saturday, November 23rd. Students will be paired with a sister residential college at Harvard for an overnight stay.  

Keep an eye out for information from your residential college on how to sign up for accommodation. 

Food

Yale students may purchase dinner at Harvard dining halls on Friday night at a cost of $20. Alternatively, students may purchase their own dinner off campus. Breakfast will be free to all Yale students in the dining halls on Saturday morning.  Lunch is served at the Undergraduate Tailgate on Saturday 

Lost and Found

The university is not responsible for stolen or lost items. Students traveling back to New Haven are advised to travel with only essential items needed for Friday and Saturday. You must label all your belongings before arriving at the bus-loading location.   

History

The Yale-Harvard football rivalry began on November 13, 1875 at Hamilton Field in New Haven (the Elis provided the Crimson a pity victory 0-4) and was first rivalry in all of college athletics.

Buses to Harvard

I purchased a bus ticket and now need to cancel or change my reservation - what do I do?

Refund requests should be directed to student.resources@yale.edu.  Be sure to include your order number or confirmation email with your request.

 

What can I do with my luggage during the game?

Harvard is offering storage for Yale student luggage at Sever Hall on Harvard's campus.  Students will be able to access Sever Hall on Friday 11/22 until 10pm, and on Saturday 11/23 starting at 9am. 

All luggage must be retrieved by 5:00pm on Saturday, before the return bus to New Haven departs.

 

Transportation

Transportation to Harvard will be provided by Yale College at the cost of $30 for a one-way ticket. If you plan to ride the bus both ways, you must purchase a ticket for each direction. Buses to Harvard depart New Haven on Friday at various times throughout the afternoon.  All buses returning to campus depart Harvard  5:30 PM Saturday. 

Bus tickets to and from Harvard are SOLD OUT.

Policies and Expectations 

By purchasing a bus ticket, you agree to the following: 

  • You must arrive at least 30 minutes no more than 45 minutes before departure.  
  • Each bag must be properly labeled to include a name and a phone number to ensure that your belongings can be readily identified. 
  • You must pick up your bags at the designated Harvard location after the game, no later than 5:00pm
  • You must keep all important items (documents, passports, medicines) with you at all times!
