Commencement 2022

Yale’s 321st commencement will be held on Monday, May 23, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. on the historic Old Campus. Monday’s ceremony marks the occasion at which all university and honorary degrees are formally conferred. Diploma ceremonies follow the university ceremony in all residential colleges and at each school.

In addition to the university ceremony, Yale College, the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, and each professional school schedule events over the course of Commencement Weekend. These events usually take place on Saturday and Sunday. A host of public performances and events are also offered on campus throughout the weekend.

Alumni Ceremony - Class of 2020

We are delighted to invite all 2020 graduates  to return to campus with family and friends May 13 to 15, 2022.

Members of the Yale College Class of 2020 returning to Yale from May 13 to May 15 can reserve residential college weekend housing by completing the Class of 2020 registration form that will be shared by early March.

We regret that due to space limitations we are not able to offer housing to families and guests of the Class of 2020.

Unvaccinated Guests and Yale College Commencement Ceremonies

University policy requires that guests be fully vaccinated and boosted (if eligible), carry documentation, and be prepared to share their documentation if asked.

As a special exception, unvaccinated guests may attend Commencement, including Yale College indoor and outdoor ceremonies, by registering with the University, agreeing to follow additional precautions, and being prepared to show proof of registration if asked.
