The YCC advocates for policy change within Yale College, organizes and sponsors student events, and provides grassroots student services. The YCC addresses undergraduate concerns and campus issues. The Council strives to improve the undergraduate experience and by resolving any challenges that undergraduates may face.

The Mission statement for the Yale College Council (YCC) states:

“We, the Yale College Council, will play an active role in shaping University policies and priorities. We will lend a voice to student concerns and opinions; protect student rights and freedoms; promote and finance undergraduate organizations; foster school unity and pride; and serve as a forum for the discussion and advancement of student ideas.”
