Although attendance is not required, new transfer students are strongly encouraged to attend the preorientation program called Focus on New Haven. Designed for Yale sophomores, it welcomes transfer students. For information, see the Focus on New Haven Web site, www.yale.edu/focusnh. An orientation for transfer students will be held in August just before the program begins. Other details about orientation will be forthcoming via e-mail.
Dormitories for upperclassmen will be open on Wednesday, August 26, and transfer students are welcome to move into their rooms on that date. Keys will be available from the Master’s Office in each college from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, August 26–28.
Transfer students are encouraged to participate in many of the events of Freshman Orientation on that first weekend; the Calendar for the Opening Days of College detailing these events will be available on line in early August.
