This site will provide you with essential practical and academic information you will need as you prepare for your freshman year. Please return to this site periodically, as more information will be posted, including the Math & Science Survey, Freshman Seminars, online placement exams, and the Calendar for the Opening Days of College.

  • Important First Steps (to be completed after April 1):

Retrieve and Activate Your NetID (information will be sent via email on April 1 or after; access available 48 hours after you matriculate)

Information on how to retrieve and activate your NetID will be sent to you beginning April 1. Check your junk mail box if you do not receive the email. Those who matriculate after April 1 will receive an email two working days after they matriculate. Your NetID will give you access to Yale’s network and its many online systems, including your Yale email account. Please note that your Yale NetID is different from your Eli Account ID. For the next couple of months, you will still need both accounts.

Complete the Housing & Advising Form Deadline May 5 

The information you provide will be used to assign you to a residential college and will be shared with your suitemates and your freshman advisers. You will need your NetID and password to access this form online. Return to this site on June 25th to find your residential college, suitemate and freshman counselor assignments. If you are an Orthodox Jewish student for whom electronics pose a problem, please complete the Joseph Slifka Center for Jewish Life at Yale form by May 24.

Set Up Authorized Payers for eBill-ePay system - (Deadline June 15)

Complete Payment Plan Enrollment (optional: Deadline June 20)

Complete the Yale University Student Bond (Deadline June 15). Download, print and complete the student bond and fax to 203-432-7557 or mail to Yale University, PO Box 208232, New Haven, CT 06520-8232. (Street Address: Yale University, Student Financial Services, 246 Church Street, New Haven, CT 06510). You will need your student ID number to complete this form. If you don’t know your student ID number,  you can find it at

  • Important Health Forms to Complete:

Health History and Immunization Forms. Complete Required Health Forms. Deadline July 3Download, print and complete the health history and immunization forms and return as directed. You will be placed on registration hold if this form is not received before classes begin.

Information for Students Who Wish to Waive Parts of Health Coverage – available in June. Deadline September 15

It is important that we have your current permanent home address, home telephone, and  cell phone number. Once you activate your NetID, you can use it to update this information in Student Information Systems.
