Announcement - Lisa Miller

Marvin Chun, Dean of Yale College

September 7, 2017

Dear YCDO colleagues,

I write with the bittersweet news that our friend and colleague Lisa Miller has accepted a position as Chair’s Assistant in the Department of Astronomy and will be leaving the YCDO. Her last day is September 15.

In Lisa’s 12 years here in the Yale College Dean’s Office, she has ably played many roles, among them assistant to Deputy Dean Joe Gordon, Senior Administrative Assistant to the Reinstatement and Transfer Committees, and Executive Assistant to the Secretary of the Executive Committee. Before coming to the dean’s office, she worked in the Neurology Department as a Medical Research Assistant; the Department of Academic Computing as the Director’s Assistant; and the Economics Department as an Undergraduate Registrar.

Lisa’s new office will be in Steinbach Hall, nearby at 52 Hillhouse Avenue, and I am grateful, both to her and to the Astronomy Department, that she has arranged to make herself available this semester to the Executive Committee and the Committee on Reinstatement as they search for and train her successor. I am glad that we will therefore be seeing her periodically here at 1 Prospect Street.

I hope that you will join me in thanking Lisa for her many years of service – and friendship – and in congratulating her on this new position.
