This section offers concise descriptions of Yale's academic programs. Included for each program are a brief overview of the subject and recommendations for freshman-year courses and/or preparation for the major. Program descriptions also give policies for placement where appropriate.
Courses listed in this section are expected to be offered in 2013–2014, and most are regularly included in the curriculum. The YCPS, which will be available on line by July 31, provides updated course information and more detailed descriptions of major requirements.
In some subjects you can earn acceleration credit either while in secondary school or by work done during freshman year. Please see under Acceleration for more information.
