Post Office Boxes
In order to receive mail on campus, all students are required by U.S. postal regulations to have a U.S. post office box. U.S. mail sent to you at Yale without your post office box number will be subject to delay in delivery, and in some cases will be returned to the sender. There is no direct delivery by U.S. mail to Yale buildings, so do not include the street address of your residential college or dormitory on packages sent by U.S. mail.
All letters and packages to your post office box should be addressed according to the following sample:
Your P.O. Box Number
New Haven, CT 06520
Letters and packages sent by U.S. mail can be picked up at the Yale Station post office, 206 Elm Street, during regular operating hours.

Shipment of Personal Effects
We recommend that you bring with you your most important items (including athletic uniforms). Items that you cannot bring with you may be shipped by U.S. mail, United Parcel Service (UPS), or motor freight carrier. There is no storage space on campus, so please plan accordingly.
Shipments before the Beginning of Fall Term
Parcel shipments made through UPS to coincide with freshman arrival at Yale can be picked up at Yale Student Receiving Center located at 143 Elm Street on Saturday, August 24, and daily from Monday through Friday from 10am to 4pm during normal business hours. The Receiving Center is not open on weekends and Holidays. You will receive an email from email@example.com when your package is scanned at Yale Student Receiving Center. Due to limited space, please pick up your package(s) within 24 hours. Unclaimed packages will be returned to sender.
Please note that there will be no UPS pickups on Friday, August 23. If you need to receive a package on Friday, August 23, mail the package to your post office box via U.S. Mail.
A list of names of students with UPS packages for pickup will be available daily in the master's office of your residential college. If the pickup schedule changes, a notice will be posted in the master's office.
