The DeVane Lectures

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The DeVane Lectures are special series of lectures that are open to the general public as well as to students and to other members of the Yale community. They were established in 1969 in honor of William Clyde DeVane, Dean of Yale College from 1939 to 1963. The next set of DeVane Lectures will be offered in spring 2013 by David Bromwich, Sterling Professor of English, and will be entitled "Style, Purpose, and Persuasion in Literature." Details of the courses are listed under Subjects of Instruction. Supplementary meetings are held for students taking the lectures for credit.
