Class of 2016 Letter

Dear Member of the Yale Class of 2016,

We are delighted to know that you will be coming to Yale. Over the next few months you will receive information about preparing for your move to New Haven and for your studies at Yale.

There are two important things you need to do right away:

1.      Activate your Yale NetID. This will give you access to Yale's computer network and its many online systems, including your Yale email account. (Please note that your Yale NetID is different from your Eli Account ID. For the next couple of months, you will still need both accounts.)

2.      Complete the Housing and Advising Form. The information you provide will be used to assign you to a residential college, to your suitemates, and to your freshman advisers. The deadline to submit this form is May 5, 11:59 PM EDT.

You will learn of your residential college, your roommates, and your freshman counselor assignments beginning at noon on June 27, 2012 via the freshman website.

Please visit the freshman website regularly. It serves as a repository for all freshman-related publications, supplemental information, and announcements. It will be updated throughout the summer.

If you plan to attend a pre-orientation program, please note the dates of arrival on the Yale College Academic Calendar.

We look forward to welcoming you to campus on Friday, August 24, when the freshman residences open and freshman orientation begins.

Best wishes,

W. Marichal Gentry
Sr. Associate Dean of Yale College
