Application Information

College seminars meet during the first week of classes, beginning Monday, January 9.

Application for spring-term seminars is now closed. Admission information in Preference Selection will be available on Friday, January 6 by 5 p.m. If a student has been admitted to a seminar, the course will be listed under "Assignment Result" in OCS Preference Selection and will also be pushed to the OCS schedule worksheet. For students who have not been admitted, Preference Selection will state "We were unable to assign you to a section."

Note: Application to CSYC 265, Great Big Ideas, is not done through Preference Selection. Interested students should attend the first session of the seminar, at which application procedures will be discussed.

For spring term 2012, students may enroll in only one college seminar and may apply to no more than two; choices are not ranked by order of preference. Students may enroll in no more than four college seminars total during their time at Yale. Auditing is not permitted, and graduate students are not eligible to apply.

Seminars are limited to eighteen students; exceptions are noted in the course descriptions. College sponsorship of a seminar is indicated by the inclusion of the college's initials in the course number, and six spaces are reserved for members of that college. The remaining spaces are open to all undergraduates regardless of college affiliation. The seminars sponsored by Yale College are open to all undergraduates regardless of college affiliation, with no spaces reserved for a specific college.
